Just over two weeks ago, KAMPAI MONTRÉAL, Québec’s first saké festival, made its debut on Thursday October 25th 2018 at Studio L’Éloi in the Mile End area of Montréal. Held by the Québec Saké Association (ASQ), the festival included more than 100 sakés to taste and Montréal’s best chefs preparing Japanese cuisine. The event consisted of two sessions: the first, for Trade & Media from 2-4 pm and the second, which was open to the public from 5-8 pm. We were thrilled to see much support from our partners and guests who were lively, enthusiastic, and eager to learn more about sake!
As an active supporter of the ASQ and with successes of saké festival, Kampai Toronto, Metropolitan was very excited to present over thirty products from our Premium Saké Portfolio together with visiting partner and supplier from Japan, Brand Ambassador Keith Norum of Masumi Sake (Miyasaka Brewing Company) in Nagano Prefecture.
Along with our new sakes from Masumi, we were proud to announce the release of our new sakés (and for the first time in Québec) from Dewazakura Sake Brewery in Yamagata Prefecture.
From start to finish, the sold-out festival was a success! We’d like to thank Saké Samurai, Michael Tremblay and our volunteers for their hard work and passion. We look forward to the growing markets in Québec and more saké events to come!
